Today,
Thompsons is the UK's leading tipper bodybuilder. From early
beginnings in the 1970's, we've gone forward ever since; building
our business with real determination to be the very best at
everything we do.
Better at design. Better at manufacture. Better at listening
to our customers, and better at responding to what they really
need.
In years past, there have been hundreds of tipper bodybuilders,
located all over the UK. But today's world is a tough one, where
only the strongest will survive.
Our strengths
Before anything, Thompsons is a company that invests heavily
in its future. Investing in every aspect of our operation -
machine tools, production facilities, design technologies and,
most important of all, people.
As a result, our products are truly 'leading edge'. They set
the standards for tipper bodybuilding as a whole, whether for
innovation, manufacturing quality, operating versatility or
low cost of ownership. Added to which, our product range has
never been wider.
From van chassis cabs to eight wheelers, Thompsons fits the
bill. Each and every model - strong, practical, easy to use
and reliable. In steel or aluminium, we've no less than eight
principal product lines and, as customers needs continue to
evolve, more will undoubtedly follow.
Truly national
Thompsons is now a truly national
company too, both in terms of its production facilities and
sales support.
Our factories in Croydon have now been joined by a new, purpose-built
production facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. And the end of
2003 has seen Thompsons acquire the business of another bodybuilder,
Charlton, based in Dover. As a result, we are now selling bodies
across all the main regional and industrial centres of the country.
But what really makes the Thompsons difference is the fact that
we listen to our customers - and respond. Big fleets or owner
drivers, there's no distinction in our approach. We are here
to provide a service, to give customers what they really want
- products that work harder, perform better and are more cost-effective
than ever before. With service and sales support to match.
