Manchester based O'Connor Construction has expanded their fleet to 55 in just over 4 years. The latest addition to the fleet is a Thompsons supplied chassis mounted tipping hot box. 

O'Connor Construction Ltd commenced business just 5 years ago and has gone from strength to strength, year on year. Now employing nearly 50 people, O'Connor Construction has firmly established themselves in the Northwest. In expanding their business O’Connor Construction have purchased a new tipping hot box to improve their ongoing service to his current customers who include Carillion and Scottish Power.

O’Connor’s 9 tonne capacity tipping hot box features two chambers enabling the customer to store separate mixes and utilises a gentle-burning thermostatically controlled propane gas heating. Binotto underfloor tipping gear replaces the need for a traditional auger and this speeds up discharge times with no sacrifice in control.

The vehicle was also specified with Thompson’s latest innovative automatic gas cylinder lift and storage gantry designed to aid with the safe storage of gas cylinders on the chassis. The cylinder lift together with an anti-slip coating on the gantry and pneumatically powered lids operated from the cab ensures that O’Connor Construction have taken every measure available to reduce the risk of injury to their drivers.

Installation of the equipment was completed within three weeks. O’Connor Construction Director, Ian O’Connor commented "I am over the moon with the finished vehicle. It is a first class job and I wouldn’t hesitate in using Thompsons again. The tipping hot box has improved business efficiency for O'Connor's due to the reduction in waste of materials".

Having now supplied and fitted several hot boxes to various customers in the UK. The tipping hot box will allow Thompsons to offer another range of products to ever growing portfolio.
