Two New Businesses Announced

Dear Associate,

Thompsons are delighted to announce 2 new companies within our Group portfolio,
Charlton (Vehicle Finishers) Ltd and Covermaster Systems Ltd.

Charlton (Vehicle Finishers) Ltd

The first is Charlton (Vehicle Finishers) Ltd which has been established with the aim of significantly expanding Charlton’s existing paintshop and vehicle preparation activities.

Located alongside Charlton’s extensive bodybuilding factory at Dover, CVF’s latest specification paintshop and preparation booths represent an investment of over £200,000, and aims to be working on a double-shifted basis up to 18 hours per day.

In addition to painting, CVF will also be able to offer vehicle refurbishment services too, thereby offering a valuable service to both buyers and sellers of used vehicles, many of which are only 3 to 5 years old.

Covermaster Systems Ltd

The second new Thompsons Group business is Covermaster Systems Ltd, which will supply a variety of sheeting systems not only for newly built Thompsons and Charlton bodies, but also as direct sales to tipper operators and end users.

Covermaster, which operates from Thompsons Croydon HQ, is to offer both electric and manually operated front to rear sheets as preferred in muckaway and heavy duty applications, as well as side to side sheeting systems as favoured in quarrying and tarmac operations.

In addition, Covermaster sheets will also be specified for use with skiploaders and hookloaders - these bodytypes being built by Thompsons at their facility in Wigan, Lancashire.
